2. Goal Setting. You have learned in this chapter about organizational goal setting. Many similarities exist between organizational and personal goal setting. The skills you develop in setting personal goals will easily transfer to an organizational setting. This exercise will allow you to practice personal goal setting. Use one of the following sites or locate one of your own that will help you write a personal goal statement. Your goal statement should reflect specific ideas you learned about goal statements from the Web site.
3. Contingency Plans. Public Safety Canada is Canada’s lead department for public safety. It develops and implements policies and standards for emergency management and national security. It is responsible for issuing timely alerts and works with emergency management associations across Canada. In this exercise you will focus on Public Safety Canada preparedness information located at: http://publicsafety.gc.ca/index-en.asp Select a disaster topic, read the provided preparedness information, and write a brief outline of a contingency plan for what an organization should do before, during, and after the disaster.
